Here it is. When it&#8217;s time to hit the books or get back to school, these can put one in the right frame of mind and spirit.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img src='http:\/\/grace-ed.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/06\/aquinas.jpg' alt='Thomas Aquinas' \/><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Ante Studium<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>A Prayer before Study<\/p>\n<p>Ineffable Creator,<br \/>\n  Who, from the treasures of Your wisdom,<br \/>\n    has established three hierarchies of angels,<br \/>\n    has arrayed them in marvelous order<br \/>\n      above the fiery heavens,<br \/>\n    and has marshaled the regions<br \/>\n      of the universe with such artful skill,<br \/>\nYou are proclaimed<br \/>\n  the true font of light and wisdom,<br \/>\n  and the primal origin<br \/>\n    raised high beyond all things.<br \/>\nPour forth a ray of Your brightness<br \/>\n  into the darkened places of my mind;<br \/>\n  disperse from my soul<br \/>\n    the twofold darkness<br \/>\n      into which I was born:<br \/>\n        sin and ignorance.<br \/>\nYou make eloquent the tongues of infants.<br \/>\n  Refine my speech<br \/>\n  and pour forth upon my lips<br \/>\n    the goodness of Your blessing.<br \/>\nGrant to me<br \/>\n  keenness of mind,<br \/>\n  capacity to remember,<br \/>\n  skill in learning,<br \/>\n  subtlety to interpret,<br \/>\n  and eloquence in speech.<br \/>\nMay You<br \/>\n  guide the beginning of my work,<br \/>\n  direct its progress,<br \/>\n  and bring it to completion.<br \/>\nYou Who are true God and true Man,<br \/>\n  Who live and reign, world without end. <\/p>\n<p>        Amen <\/p>\n<p>&#8212;St. Thomas Aquinas<\/p>\n<p><img src='http:\/\/grace-ed.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/06\/galindobanner3.jpg' alt='galindobanner3.jpg' \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Some time age I posted Johnn Calvin&#8217;s student prayer and said that I&#8217;d post one by St. Thomas Aquinas.
